What is Sea Shell?
Sea Shell is a content media mobile application. Content media is a curated composition of articles, videos, memes, and other great internet content.
Why should I use Sea Shell?
Sea Shell has been designed to provide people with a memorable, unique, positive and valuable user experience. It does this while focusing on people’s safety, and avoiding the detriments of much of the online material that people currently consume.
Do I need to do anything to use it?
Nope! Just scroll the feed and enjoy!
Sea Shell doesn't create user profiles or obtain or hold any of your personal information or data. You don't have to worry about setting up an account or logging in.
We don't track you through the internet, and you don't need to worry about your personal data being harvested or used for nefarious purposes.
What kind of content will I see?
Sea Shell offers people new and exciting stories, ideas, information, and engaging material. Looking at Sea Shell you'll be able to see:
Articles about the world and environment, culture and entertainment, as well as some about food, sports, style and technology, and even satire, and health and wellbeing.
Reviews relating critical opinions of new entertainment releases, including movies, television, music, games, and other culture and entertainment.
Videos created by both professional media outlets and real people , featuring entertainment, interviews, things you’ve never seen before, U.G.C., how to’s, reviews, and so much more.
Memes featuring everything from funny pics & photos, comics & cartoons, screengrabs, gifs, screencaps, positive memes, pop culture memes, obscure & surreal memes, silly memes, nonsense memes, trending memes, and even classic memes.
Sea Shell taps into the fact that the internet houses pretty much all knowledge about everything and everything ever created, and presents that to people in an engaging manner. This includes the world’s greatest art (contemporary and past), award winners, positive stories that may not receive the attention they deserve, great people that you may not have heard of, interesting things that aren't common knowledge, and much more.
What kind of content won’t I see?
Sea Shell is not social media created by people on the street about their thoughts and feelings. It’s not curated by an algorithm based on tracked behaviour and engagement rules that can be tricked. It’s not content presented based on how many views or likes it has already achieved.
Sea Shell is never comprised of coverage of of major disasters, controversial reports and ideas, triggering topics, politically sensitive material, polarising and negative opinions (including ‘feelpinions’), bigotry, sexual advances or sexually explicit content, extreme violence, graphic death, conspiracy theories, news reports and content that may be factually incorrect or that is dubious and lacking in sources, stupidity, news specific to one location that is only of interest to people from that location, or any content with the potential to traumatise, enrage, annoy, or bother people.
Can I post my own content?
Nope!
The content that people consume in Sea Shell is curated by producers and managed by an editor.
What can I do if I see something of mine posted to Sea Shell?
Similar to social media apps, Sea Shell showcases great internet content. This can be produced and created by professional media outlets and every day people. We strive to ensure all credit is provided at all times, and that creators' sites are linked to correctly.

How often should I use Sea Shell?
Every day!
Sea Shell posts appear chronologically. If you want to see every piece of content we post you can and will. You don't need to worry about great content being hidden by an algorithm because it didn't get enough likes.
We think you will get about 5-10 minutes use out of the app each day, depending on how quickly you read and scroll. Perfect for taking a quick breather or when you're waiting on something.
Can I support Sea Shell by helping to fund it?
Absolutely, and please do!
Though it looks great and functions well, the Sea Shell app is a totally independent undertaking, created and operated out of bedrooms and hotel rooms. It has no source of funding other than donations.
The app is free for all to use, because the internet should be free for all. Also, much of the content Sea Shell presents has been created by others - we are merely showcasing it.

Can I advertise on Sea Shell?
Sea Shell is open to advertising high quality products to our audience if we feel that they are relevant and beneficial to them. The app has the functionality to include standard online image and video ads within the feed.

Why don’t I need to login?
We don't want your personal information. It belongs to you. As such, we don't feel the need for user accounts. If we ever feel that we can offer a better app experience by implementing accounts then we will reach out to people for their permission. At this stage our ethos is that we have no business knowing who you are, and that online anonymity is paramount to personal safety.

Do you have Terms of Service or Privacy Policy?

We also have a straight-forward editorial policy that defines the type of content that people will and will not see on the app, which offers protection from viewing potentially harmful content, ensures no private personal information is ever published, ensures that material that appears on Sea Shell is either established truth or from reputable sources, is never intentionally misleading, and does not knowingly infringe on any copyrights or trademarks.
